Positive Ministry of the Holy Spirit

Let's begin a study on this subject from the word of God; I want to explore the truths about the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Also expose the misunderstandings, wrong teachings, and the misrepresentation of Him, sadly to say, is being practiced in our churches today. I know that as you go through this study with me, it will be "A Real Eye Opener!" as it was to me. I want to represent the Holy Spirit for who He really is from God's word. Let's shed light on how He ministers on this earth, what His purpose was for coming, and the truth about His positive ministry that is a blessing to us, as believers. Do you know that many in the body of Christ are representing the Holy Spirit in a negative way today? You couldn't possibly have a strong, close relationship with your Father, if you don't understand the truth behind the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Most people are led to believe that self condemnation, self-doubt, feeling unworthy, and conviction for individual sins, is the work of the Holy Spirit. That is absolutely not true! Do you know what the devil's favorite tool is? It's Religion! Religion has done, and is still doing a great job of convincing the body of Christ that the Holy Spirit is the source of negative feelings. Mainly because of wrong teachings and misunderstandings of God's word, Christians think the Holy Spirit is showing them there unworthiness. If you believe the Holy Spirit is the author of making you feel unworthy, it's almost impossible to receive from God. Why would you want to hang out with someone who makes you feel so bad? I know I wouldn't! Many leaders are telling the Saints that they need to clean up there acts before they could ever receive from God. That our acceptance is based on works and performance, Not True! ONCE YOU HAVE ACCEPTED JESUS CHRIST IN YOUR HEART, YOU ARE 100% ACCEPTED BY HIM!

What is the truth then? It's our hearts, more specifically our conscience that is condemning us, NOT GOD! It is not the work of the Holy Spirit to make us feel bad when we sin, bring feelings of unworthiness, guilt and condemnation. We always hear people say today, "Well the Holy Spirit is convicting me or dealing with me"; that is so far from the truth. Hebrews 9:14 says, How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve a living God. Hebrews 10:22 says, Let us draw near with the true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience. Hebrews 4:16, Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. It says now that our conscience is cleansed by the blood of Christ, we can come boldly to the throng of grace. We should try not to give our conscience any occasion against us. It can not condemn us if we are not giving it a reason - we need to purge it, through the word of God.

The Holy Spirit is opposite of what many Christians think. John 14:16 says I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter/helper that he may abide with you forever. Notice that Jesus called Him a comforter/helper not an afflicter. Jesus sent another Comforter; who is the same caliber, same character and nature as Jesus. Jesus is LOVE! Nowhere in the bible did Jesus condemn anyone, except the Religious Pharisees.

John 3:17-19 says for God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned. But he that believeth not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (He doesn't condemn the world; they are already condemned by not believing in the son of God). What are these scriptures saying to us then? God sent His Son, not to condemn the world, but to save the world. So this means if Jesus sent the Holy Spirit in His place to represent Him, having the same caliber, character, nature and likeness as Jesus, the Holy Spirit is not condemning the Christians either. John 16:8 says and when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. Jesus had to say this scripture, because He knew that some in the body of Christ, the religious Pharisees of this day, would say that the Holy Spirit was sent to convict and condemn His people. What a mis-representation of who He is! This says convict the world not the born again believers. Look at these two words, convict and condemn. Conviction, which means (finding guilty) and condemnation which means (disapproved of). All conviction (finding guilty) and all condemnation (being disapproved of) was put on Jesus on behalf of all believers. This is awesome! It does not make sense that Jesus would send the Holy Spirit to continually find us guilty, or disapprove of us, when Jesus took it all to the cross, once and for all. As for the world, if you read John 16:8-11 you will see that it was only one sin that God will convict the world of. It's the sin of not believing in Jesus Christ; not individual sins, convicting us of our righteousness, the world of there self-righteousness, and of judgment, for the ruler of this world, (Satan) is judged.

The Holy Spirit will convict us of this one awesome truth. 2nd Corinthian 5:21 says For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Jesus was saying "It is better that I go, in my bodily form, so the Holy Spirit could come, to reside in every Born again believer", to help, guide, comfort them in all truths from God's word. John 12:26 says But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 15:26 says But when the Helper comes whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. It doesn't say anything about conviction, or that He was sent to condemn us. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit as a helper, teacher, and comforter. He came to help us remember all things the Lord has told us, speaking the Spirit of Truth to our hearts, testifying of Jesus Christ and confirming His word to His people.

Romans 3:4 says let God be true every man a liar. In 1st John 3:19-20 says, and by this we know that we are of the truth and shall assure our hearts before Him. For if our hearts condemns us God is greater than our hearts, and knows all things. This is such a radical truth! How do we assure our hearts? It's with the truth of God's word. It also says very clearly that our hearts can condemn us even though God is not. What an awesome confirmation that the Holy Spirit is not condemning us today! 1st John 3:21 says Beloved, if our hearts does not condemn us we have confidence toward God. This is saying, if we can reach a point where your conscience is not condemning, and causing you to feel unworthy to receive-(then you will have confidence toward God) Hebrews 10:35 says do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. Plainly in these scriptures it shows us that God is not condemning you; that it is your own conscience condemning you. This should shed a whole new light on your relationship with the Holy Spirit that He has come to have a close, positive relationship with every believer. I hope you will think about this awesome truth, and change your thinking so not to miss out anymore on the awesome benefits and power of having a relationship with the Holy Spirit. He is your best friend, always wants to encourage you, and constantly assures you of God's love for you, and reminding us to trust Jesus

THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN'T DO HIS JOB IN OURS LIVES IF WE THINK HE IS THE ONE THAT IS CONVICTING US. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A POSITIVE MINISTRY, NOT EVER NEGATIVE TOWARDS HIS CHILDREN. THIS IS GOOD NEWS! THE TRUE GOSPEL! PRAISE GOD!
