"Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord" – 2nd Peter 2
God's Christmas gift to you!
Here we are again, another year, and we are ramping up to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
I know myself; in the past I have participated in this great holiday, never really understanding
what the bible was proclaiming through the birth of Jesus Christ. Do we really understand? Do we
realize the awesome revelation and truths in God's word concerning the birth of Jesus Christ?
I want to share with you one of the best gifts anyone could ever receive this Christmas; it's
the truth about the birth of Jesus Christ. I want to open your eyes to see God's wonderful plan
for reconciliation between God and man. I want you to celebrate, as I am celebrating, Christmas
in a whole new light. This revelation will bring such joy, peace and freedom into your lives.
These truths have made me see the birth of Jesus Christ and Christmas in a whole new light, and
I am rejoicing in a big way!
This year I decorated my home, with such excitement in my heart. I am honoring Jesus Christ
and His birth like I never did before! I want to express from the bottom of my heart how
thankful I am that He has opened my eyes to see this awesome truth. I know He wants me to
share this wonderful truth with you also. How wonderful is what the angels were proclaiming
to the Shepherds in Luke 2:8 -14. Let's get into God's word together. I want you to see this
awesome truth that the war between God and men is over! He is no longer mad at us; in fact He
is no longer mad at the world. This is such, "Good News!"
In John 8:32 says you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. Do you struggle
with the fact that God is not angry or upset with you? Have you ever heard that your acceptance
and His love is not based on your performance? The word clearly reveals that if we aren't
getting right results, it's because we are not believing right. Proverbs 23:7 says, as he
thinks in his heart so is he. The majority of believers believe that once they have received
Christ in their heart, God has forgiven their sins up to that point. But now they have to
work to earn God's acceptance and approval to receive anything from God. If you believe that
lie, then you really need to understand the birth of Jesus Christ, and what has taken place
through this birth on behalf of us, and the world.
The Christmas story goes like this: Luke 2: 8-14 there were in the same country shepherds
abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the
Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore
afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of
great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of
David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall
find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was
with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, "Glory to God
in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men."
This Christmas story creates excitement and gets us into the Christmas spirit. I want
to ask you, do you really know what this is saying? Most will say it is peace among men
on this earth. Most people's interpretation this scripture as saying that the angels were
proclaiming that Jesus' arrival would stop division, end strife and usher in a new era of
peace on the earth. This is not what these verses are saying. Jesus himself declared in
Matthew 10:34-36 think not that I am come to send peace on earth; I came not to bring
peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the
daughter against her mother and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a
man's foes shall be they of his own household. In Matthew 24:6-8 the Lord also prophesied
that one of the signs of the end times would be increased war, division, and strife. Yes,
if you accept Christ in your hearts, it can enable you to turn the other cheek, and operate
in love in different degrees, but the rest of the world will not have peace with each other.
Jesus ended the war, in what the angels were proclaiming. In Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the
highest, and on earth peace, goodwill towards men. The angels were announcing, "Peace, Good
will toward men from God!" Before the advent of the Lord Jesus Christ, God was at war against
man's sins. We need to examine God's word that reveals there was wrath and a judgment from
God against people in the Old Testament that is totally unjustified and wrong in the New
Testament. Why? Jesus ended the war between God and man. The "Good News" is these angels
who announced the birth of Jesus understood the gospel. They understood that He came to pay
the price, to redeem us, and to stop God's wrath upon sin. The New Testament church should
be telling people that their sins have been paid for. As a whole, the church isn't preaching
this, instead they are telling people that God is angry with them, and they wonder why people
are not beating the doors down to get into the church. Romans 2:4 says it is the goodness of
God that leads to repentance. God is a just God, but in 1st Corinthians 6:20 is says Jesus
paid the price. This totally changes the way God deals with mankind today. That was what
the angels were singing about in Luke 2:14. What a wonderful truth being revealed in these
scriptures here.
2nd Corinthians 5:17-18 says therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who
has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ. This is saying we are reconciled, to be made
friendly, bringing us back into harmony. This is "Good News." God is not upset with the
Christians, and He also is not mad at the unbelievers. In Hebrews 10:14 says for by one
offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. John 16:9 says there is
only one sin that will send a man to hell, and that is not accepting the sacrifice, which
was Jesus Christ. The anger and wrath of God has been atoned and appeased. God's wrath was
placed upon His Son and God isn't angry with us anymore.
2nd Corinthians 5:18 says all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself by Jesus
Christ and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. The angels were declaring, God
is not angry, there is peace. He is not upset with you! In spite of this truth, somehow
people today love to let others know just how "angry" God is, thinking it will drive them
to God, and keep you out of hell. That is hog wash! It doesn't work! Instead they should
be preaching the goodness of God leads to repentance, and that God, through His Son Jesus
Christ, has forgiven our sins, past present and future. Sin is no longer an issue with God!
If you are religious that will up set you, but never the less it is the truth. Sin is only
an issue with the devil! If you are in sin, you give Satan permission to attach himself to your
soulish being, it doesn't effect who we are in the spirit. John 4:24 says God relates to us
through, our spirits, not our bodies & souls. You are probably saying well she is making
light of sin, but really what is happening is you are making light of Jesus, and what He did
for the world, to redeem us, restore us back to God once and for all. I am also saying if
you realize the awesome infinite plan God had to restore us back in right fellowship with Him through
the birth of Jesus Christ, you would not want to sin. This is the true Gospel that should
be preached.
2nd Corinthians 5:19 says God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not
imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Impute means - to hold against, this scripture says not imputing their trespasses unto them.
God is not holding our sins (trespasses against us) anymore!
We are now reconciled, made friendly! God is our best friend!
All because of the birth of Jesus Christ!
What a Christmas gift!
Let's Celebrate!
