Where is the Fire?
Where is the Fire?
In the book of Judges 6 you will see that the children of Israel sinned and turned against God.
The byproduct of that was that God delivered them into the hand of the Midianites for seven years.
The Midianites and the Amalekites prevailed against them. Every time Israel sowed crops they came
and took them. When their animals reproduced they came and took them also. They were having a very
hard time, so they cried out to God in Judges 6:13. Gideon said to Him, "O my Lord, if the Lord is
with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles, which our fathers told
us about, saying, 'Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?' But now the Lord has forsaken us and
delivered us into the hands of the Midianites."
I have a question that comes to mind right now. Where are the miracles like they had in those days? We see some miracles, but not like back then. The Red sea dividing, Manna coming down from heaven. I haven't seen those types of miracles today, have you? Where is the fire? Where is the glory? Where is the power? What is happening in the body of Christ today that we are not seeing signs, wonders, and miracles? 2nd Chronicles 7:1-3 says when Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filed the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord's house. When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and praised the Lord, saying; "For He is good, for His mercy endures forever." Saints, I think America and the world need to see this fire and glory today! Today's church is not demonstrating the fire and the glory like God wants. Instead we are seeing decreases in attendance and decreases in salvations. In the gospels, Jesus much of the time used signs and wonders to draw people to Christ. Shouldn't we be doing the same thing? Absolutely! 1st Kings 18:36-39 tells the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal. In this story they both had taken a bull and prepared it on an altar. The Prophets of Baal called on Baal from morning till noon. In 1st Kings 18:27 Elijah mocked them saying, "Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he is meditation, or he is busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is sleeping and must be awakened." Is the world today mocking the church also saying is your God sleeping too? Where are these miracles, signs and wonders? Where is the fire, the glory and the power you all talk about? The Prophets of Baal leaped, and cried out loud; and even cut themselves, which was there custom. They called on their god of Baal, but there was no voice, no one answered, no one paid attention. Without sign and wonders, the fire coming down from heaven, the glory fallen, I don't believe we have a voice, or answers; no one is paying attention either. The world needs to see the fire of God! The world needs answers! The world needs to see the churches rise up in our authority, to demonstrate the one true God. Instead we have the president stating recently that, "America is not a Christian nation, it is made up of all people of all religions. There was an article on the Internet that stated, "Is America no longer a Christian nation?" I will tell you if the church would rise up and realize the power of our creator; in us; in our spirit man, and the awesome authority He has given us as believers, it would turn some heads, Amen! It would shut mouths, Amen! It says in John 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also, greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father." Saints, as believers we need to recognize that greater is He who is in us than he that is in the world. It's the greater works that are going to draw the world! It will stop them from discrediting our God and the church. When are we going to stand up and do what God asked us to do for Him? We need to demonstrate our God to the world all the time, Amen?
Let's go back and finish this story about the Prophets of Baal, and Elijah. Then Elijah called them near to him. He took 12 stones according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob. He built the altar with them, putting a large trench around it. Elijah cut the wood and cut the Bull into pieces, placed it on the altar. He said, "take four water pots with water and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and the wood." He told them to do it two more times after that. The water ran around the altar and filled the trench. Elijah said, "Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am your servant, that I have done these things in Your word. O God hear me that the people may know that You are God and that You have turned their hearts back to You Again." And the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust; it licked up the water that was in the trench. The people saw it; they fell on their faces; and they said, "The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!" This story is paraphrased, but I would suggest you go back and read the whole story, Amen!
It was Elijah knowing who he was in Christ. It was like he was saying to the Prophets of Baal, "as soon as you are done, come here I will make your day!" He had confidence in his God, and what He would do through Elijah. He demonstrated to those who didn't believe, that His God was the one true God, Hallelujah! Jeremiah 20:9 says Then I said, "I will not make mention of Him, nor speak anymore of His name." But His word was in my heart like a burning fire, shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding back and could not. There is something about the fire inside of you, you get so excited, that you can't contain it. When God baptized the disciples with the Holy Spirit and fire, they talked about God, talked about Jesus, the glory and the anointing of God fell. Amen! They were no longer afraid; boldness rose up within them.
As believers, we are filled with the same Holy Spirit and fire. We have the greater one in us, to go forth into the world to preach, teach and demonstrate this awesome God we serve, Amen! Let's step up to the plate, step out in faith, and be bold. God has called us into the world to demonstrate his power, His glory, and His fire.
What America needs today is some good Holy Ghost filling with Fire! Hebrews 1:7 "who makes His angels spirit and His ministers a flame of Fire. There are so many who don't have a flame, not even a flicker or a pilot light. It's no wonder America is in the condition we are in! Amen!
If enough of us get the fire, we can change the Nations, the world, we can change what needs to be changed. When we are filled with the Holy Ghost and fire, miracles begin to happen! The power of God begins to come down! The glory of God will come down! The fire of God will come down! The church should be God's healing center. Jesus lived only 33 years, we need to live out the rest of His life on this earth, doing and demonstrating His power to the world!
THEN THE WORLD WILL SAY, "WOW! YOUR GOD IS GOD!
